The GreenLight Women 3rd Annual Brunch brought together a powerhouse community of distinguished women, industry leaders, and change-makers at the luxurious London West Hollywood for an afternoon of inspiration, empowerment, and philanthropy.

A Tribute to Trailblazing Icons
Honoring Jayne Kennedy and Regina Jones, the brunch recognized two pioneering women whose contributions transformed media and entertainment. Jayne Kennedy, the Pioneer Award Honoree, broke barriers as a sports broadcaster, actress, and advocate, paving the way for women of color in media. Regina Jones, the Trailblazer Award Honoree, revolutionized cultural journalism as the co-founder and editor-in-chief of SOUL Newspaper, amplifying Black voices in entertainment. She previewed her upcoming documentary, Who in the Hell is Regina Jones?, premiering at the February 2025 Pan African Film Festival, highlighting her role as a media pioneer and advocate. Moderated by acclaimed radio host Dominique DiPrima (First Things First with Dominique DiPrima), their conversation explored resilience, representation, and mentorship, inspiring future generations of media professionals and creatives.

A special thank you to this year’s event host, actress Erica Gimpel, known for her roles in Wayfair Witches, Quantum Leap, Night Agent, 9-1-1, and the classic series Fame. Her presence and charisma brought warmth and energy to the event, guiding the audience through an inspiring celebration of powerful women.
Additionally, acclaimed saxophonist J. Boykin delivered an unforgettable musical performance. His 360° perspective performance captivated attendees, earning a standing ovation for his extraordinary artistry and energy, which elevated the experience to a whole new level.
GreenLight Women’s Leadership and Vision
The 3rd Annual Brunch was produced by GreenLight Women’s President Kimberly Ogletree, an award-winning producer with over 25 films and numerous TV series, alongside Romell Foster-Owens (Secretary), a veteran filmmaker and advocate for women in entertainment. Their leadership ensured a seamless, empowering event, bringing together industry leaders and changemakers.
Under their guidance, GreenLight Women’s Executive Board includes Lucy Webb (Vice President) and Gladys Stennis-Mixon (Treasurer). The organization also welcomed new board members—Sharlette Hambrick, Bobbi Banks, Neema Barnette, Hillary Bibicoff, Julie Dash, Michelle Dennedy, and Rahwa Ghebre-Ab—expanding its network of professionals dedicated to championing women over 40 in entertainment.

The brunch featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, emphasizing diversity, inclusion, and combating ageism in entertainment.
